The subject of this week’s class are the Outer Preliminaries. In the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition the preliminaries refer to the Ngondro. Ngondro is a collected series of foundational practices one needs before going to Liberation. The outer or common preliminaries, also known as the four thoughts that turn the mind, are the encapsulation of the most fundamental teachings of Sutrayana from the Dzogchen perspective. Rinpoche guides us through 7 contemplations on the nature of impermanence.
