How to Take Refuge

Continuing on the theme of Refuge, this lesson goes into the detail of the actual practice of Refuge, including an explanation of the 3 main components of Refuge which engage Body (the prostrations), Speech (the recitation of the prayer) and Mind (the visualization of the refuge field).
Through the practice of Refuge we learn the transformative power of relationship and of surrendering oneself to the most profound form of hierarchy; the lineage of Enlightened beings and the Ultimate Nature of Reality. Khandro La explores the diversity of cultural dialogue around notions of hierarchy, egalitarianism and subordination, and how the Refuge practice can create resistance or aversion in Western students.
